In Stone Town you can also visit the Oman fort which Arabs used as a defense against the Portugese but nowadays it is used for theatre and music perfomances. Ithna’asheri; the old dispensary built by an Indian merchant, National museum, Persian – styled public baths built by the Sultan for his wives, Kelele Square which was the main slave market.
Forodhani Garden where every evening people gather for delicious prepared street food which differ from sea food to unique Zanzibar and African dishes.
Outside of Stone Town there are some spice farms; as Zanzibar is known as “Spice Island’ there are different spices, herbs and several tropical fruits like; cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, black pepper, breadfruit, jackfruit, lemon grass, lipstick tree, soap bush just being a few of them.

As Zanzibar was the main slave market there is a famous Island (Changuu or Prison Island) in the north west of Stone town which was used to control the disobedient slaves but today the Island is famous for its Giant Tortoises.
